We do our best to help the environment, but our farm is not based on anything organic or sustainable. Our farm is a family of traditional, local farmers who believe in sustainable farming. We’ve been involved in the sustainability movement for over 35 years, and have been a part of many local efforts to increase the sustainability of our farming practices. We want to change people’s beliefs about farming and how we grow, so we’ve been working with the Organic Trade Association and the Natural Resources Defense Council to get people to believe in the organic way of life.
With our farmers we are trying to take responsibility for our food and our water. We are trying to use sustainable and sustainable practices, we are trying to use better technology and we are trying to work with local people and to build relationships and to develop cooperative projects. We are trying to create a new sustainable agriculture sector. We are trying to create a new industry.
We all love to eat organic produce from farms. But as you’ll see in the video, most of it ends up in landfills or on the food waste heap—which means we could be saving some seriously valuable green beans and other crops!
As we have learned over the years that most of what you eat, is produced by people. People are not paying much attention to how they use this land or even if it’s good for them in the long term. So as a society, we need more than just planting trees and spending money on buying food from local producers (which has been happening since at least the beginning).
We are aware of the sustainability and protection issues facing farms globally, but we've seen it come to life in Queensland. The farm is managed using local grazing practices as well through work with conservation groups who have been instrumental (and sometimes moreso than others) in creating this particular community along the shoreline of the Great Ocean Road.

Our farms are small, sustainably-managed farms with a focus on healthy soils, healthy animals, and healthy people. We know how to keep our animals safe, and we know how to grow food. We also know that we have to be mindful of the impact we are having on our planet and the future generations. We’re mindful of our water, land, and people.
