Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Shri Prakash Javadekar today launched the Digital Calendar and Diary of the Government of India. At the event held at the National Media Center, Mr. Javadekar unveiled the Android and iOS mobile apps of Calendar Lander and Diary with the click of a button.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister expressed happiness that the government calendar which used to adorn the walls in the past will now adorn mobile phones. Highlighting the features of the application, Sh. Javadekar said that the application was free and will be available in 11 languages from January 15, 2021. The application will eliminate the need for a new calendar each year. He further added, “Every month a theme and accompanying message will be given and it will feature a famous Indian personality. The app will also inform people about the timeline of various government programs so far. ”
The Government of India's digital calendar and diary application has been launched. This is the first time a government calendar and diary has been introduced in digital form.

"Every year we print about 1.1 million calendar lenders and 90,000 diaries but this year we've gone digital."
Javadekar said the application would meet the requirement of a new calendar lender every year. Every month the theme will be set and messages will be given and a great man will be mentioned. The application will also inform the people about the start timeline of various government programs.
Will be available in 15 languages from January 15th.
Javadekar said the diary has added more features to the lender. It has more features than other digital calendar lender apps and is easy to use
Head of Press Information Bureau K.S. Dhatwalia told PTI that Rs 7 crore was spent on printing these calendar lenders and diaries last year, but this time the expenditure incurred by the ministry was close to Rs 2 crore as the government went digital.
“Last year, about Rs 1 crore was spent on printing the final lender and diary. The ministry has gone digital this year and is worth Rs 2 crore. ”
Speaking on the occasion, Javadekar expressed happiness that the government calendar which used to adorn the walls in the past now adorns mobile phones.
He said the ‘GoI Calendar’ app is free and will be available in 11 languages from January 15.
“The application will eliminate the need for a new calendar lender every year. Each month will have a theme and accompanying message, featuring prominent Indian personalities. The application will also inform the public about the launch times of various government programs so far, ”he said.
Regarding the diary feature of the application, the Minister said, "Due to the diary feature, the digital provider is more advanced, more convenient and convenient than other digital calendar applications."
This application has been designed and developed by the Ministry of Outreach and Communications, Information and Broadcasting.
It is currently available in Hindi and English and will soon be available in 11 other Indian regional languages, the ministry said.
